PCS represents general practice throughout Sheffield providing a unified voice for all 76 GP practices in the city (plus 28 branch practices) covering a population of almost 584,000 people for traditional in-hours general practice, as well as out-of-hours care (via our city-wide hubs), sexual health services and much more. Primary care, a phrase often used to mean modern general practice, is delivered in multi-disciplinary teams including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and pharmacists. You can find out more about PCS and it’s services by clicking here.
PCS is a full member of Sheffield’s Accountable Care Partnership (ACP) and we have close links with Sheffield’s PCNs (Primary Care Networks), neighbourhoods, localities and CRN-funded research clusters in the city.
Our Research Office is involved in a wide range of primary care research delivery projects. We have expertise in contracts, human resources and research finance, and we work in partnership with other organisations in the city to ensure that all stages of our research projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. We work in collaboration with the University of Sheffield and NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) through the Primary Care Research Collaborative.
We have developed a tiered model of primary care research delivery in the city in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Sheffield, and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
