Primary Care Sheffield to develop additional COVID-19 vaccination capacity

We have been working to develop additional coronavirus vaccination capacity to meet the demand from cohorts 10 – 12. Once fully operational the clinics will have capacity to deliver over 4,500 vaccines per week and will operate as part of the mass vaccination response led by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group and Primary Care Sheffield (PCS) agreed these arrangements on 17 May, kick-starting an intense period of mobilisation, including the recruitment of vaccine centre staff. Anyone interested in working at the centre over the next 16 weeks (vaccinators, support staff and managers) should contact holly.reddish@nhs.net or call 07483 942623.

The PCS service will begin operating on 8 June 2021 from Darnall Primary Care Centre (DPPC), 290 Main Road, S9 4QH, and will offer appointments 6 days a week, including weekends and weekday evenings, to support current provision and access. The clinic will not operate on a Monday due to the fixed schedule of vaccine delivery. Transport links to DPCC are good with main line buses running until midnight on weekdays and overflow parking will be available off site at 722 Prince of Wales Road carpark or near to Darnall PCC. Disabled parking will be available at DPCC.

How to book
Patients will be able to book into the clinic via the national booking service. At the time of booking patients will be able to book their appointments for both doses. Patients who have received dose 1 elsewhere will be able to book dose 2 at the clinic.
