My partners and I had a couple of queries about the network DES.
Firstly regarding conflicts of interest. Would holding a PCS position like a board member or a CCG position mean you couldn’t be the neighbourhood lead.
Secondly regarding size of neighbourhoods, in our locality I think there is one neighbourhood less than 30,000 and one more than 50,000 would we be expected to re organise our neighbourhoods?

    1. As a Board member of PCS or CCG it would still be possible to be a clinical lead as long as the potential for conflict was openly managed
    2. We think that the current guidance for minimum size of a network ie 30k is quite rigid with a few exceptions mostly for rural settings. There does seem to be flexibility with the upper end though, so large neighbourhoods don’t necessarily have to change.
