We initiated home working on 24.03.2020, notifying practices of their referrals to secondary care (as described in our update of 20.03.20). However, from 31.03.2020 we have been able to provide a full CASES service again with inclusion of sending out booking letters. We will update here if this changes again.
We will endeavour to maintain our usual CASES service to practices, but in the event of our admin team transferring to home-working, it will be difficult to print letters with password details to enable patients to book their appointments. We plan to keep a record of such referrals and once a more normal service is resumed we will contact any such patients by letter. As a fail-safe, we will be emailing to practices with UBRN numbers so these may be printed from eRS and sent to patients by practices directly, or even contact them by phone, if they wish. However, given the circumstances, we are anticipating that this will be an extremely small number and may not happen at all as routine work is suspended.
We will reimburse additional printing and postage costs incurred by practices.
